I thought about titling this post “Why does Shizu suck?” but that seemed harsh, even for me. ;P
Anyway, why have I not updated lately, you ask (or maybe not, but I’m going to tell you anyway)? For one thing, Serreina’s Light’s Hope Chapel piece – the one with the preview in my previous post – has kind of taken on a life of its own, like a wild flailing psychotic thing. So I need to figure out exactly what I want to do with it before I finish it. It happens to me a lot. You’d think I would have more control over events that occur in my head, but you would be wrong.
Also, I’ve been working on …
THIS!!
I don’t consider myself an artist, really, but since I’ve had a bug up my bum about drawing and decided that I should put goals related to drawing on my to-do list for the next year, I thought I’d pick it up again and try to actually get good at it. I have a request pending after I finish Shizu and another artbunny as well (an artbunny is, of course, like a plotbunny but for art), so I should get a lot of practice at it in the coming weeks.
I also wish I’d made the preview piece bigger, because I’m proud of the inking.
But I will get that Light’s Hope piece posted, because I think it kind of rocks. It just needs direction.
P.S. I fell on my butt at the ice rink today. I bruised my tailbone and the palm of my hand at the base of my left index finger. This isn’t related to writing or drawing in any way, unless you count the fact that I am left-handed and the bruise is right there, but I thought you’d like to know.
